Dayton, OH – Community Tissue Services (CTS) is pleased to welcome Mark H. VanAllman as executive director. VanAllman will be responsible for developing, directing and implementing the activities of the employees of CTS tissue processing and strategic marketing and distribution to ensure effective and efficient daily operations.
He began his career in tissue banking at LifeNet in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1990 and rose within the company to become the director of tissue operations. Most recently, VanAllman served as director of worldwide operations at Bowman Research, Inc. in Des Plaines, Illinois.
VanAllman earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia followed by a Master of Business Administration from Old Dominion University.
According to Diane Wilson, COO of CTS, “The position was created to allow CTS to better serve tissue recipients and medical professionals. CTS is one of the five largest tissue banks in the United States and the largest non-profit provider of skin grafts for severe burn patients. As the demand for quality tissue grafts continues to increase each year, VanAllman’s leadership and expertise in the field of tissue banking will be a strong asset to our organization.”
VanAllman is affiliated with several professional organizations. He is a member of the Society of Quality Assurance and American Association of Tissue Banks, where he has served on the Standards and Procedures and Personnel Training and Certification committees.
Community Tissue Services serves the public through recovery, processing and distribution of human tissue donations used for transplantation. Community Tissue Services is composed of eight regional offices and two satellite offices: Dayton, Ohio (Corporate Office); Fort Worth, Texas; Fresno, California; Indianapolis, Indiana; Memphis, Tennessee; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Portland, Oregon; and Toledo, Ohio.
