Diane Wilson Elected President-Elect of the American Association of Tissue Banks' Board of Governors
DAYTON, OH — (July 25, 2007) Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS) is pleased to announce Diane Wilson was recently elected President-Elect of the American Association of Tissue Banks. She will serve as President from September 2009 – September 2011.
The American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) is a scientific, not-for-profit, peer group organization founded in 1976 to facilitate the provision of transplantable cells and tissues of uniform high quality in quantities sufficient to meet national needs.
Ms. Wilson has a long history of outstanding service to AATB. Currently, she serves on the Board of Governors and as a speaker for the AATB training course. Ms. Wilson has also chaired the Tissue Bank Council and the Standards Committee as well as co-chaired the Council of Accredited Tissue Banks (CATB), with which she has been actively involved since its inception.
Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Community Tissue Services, has worked at CBC/CTS for over 20 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is also a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist and a licensed registered nurse.
Wilson is a member of several academic and professional organizations. In Ohio, she serves on the advisory board of Life Connection of Ohio. Nationally, she serves on the board of directors for ICCBBA, American Association of Tissue Banks, Mid-South Tissue Bank, and Joint Restoration Foundation, Inc. Also, Wilson is a member of National Association of Orthopedic Nurses, American Association of Operating Room Nurses, and the American Association of Blood Banks.
Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is ISO 9001:2000 Registered. Community Blood Center is the sole provider of blood components to the twenty-five hospitals in its fifteen county service area. Community Tissue Services serves the public through recovery, processing and distribution of human tissue donations used for transplantation.
