Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services Elects New Member to the Board of Trustees

DAYTON, OH — (June 28, 2007) Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS) has elected David E. Westcott to its Board of Trustees.

According to Judith E. Woll, M.D., CEO of CBC/CTS, “Dave provides extensive knowledge and experience in the financial and accounting field and is truly committed to our mission of saving and enhancing lives.” 

Westcott has over 27 years experience in the financial and accounting industry.  Currently, he is the Treasurer of AK Steel Corporation, where he is responsible for credit and collections, cash management, accounts payable, customer financial services, corporate finance and tax.  Westcott has been employed at AK Steel for over 27 years.   He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.

Locally, Westcott has served on United Way allocation review committees and has been affiliated with Junior Achievement for over 26 years.  In addition, he is a member of the Association of Financial Professionals.

Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is ISO 9001:2000 Registered.  Community Blood Center is the sole provider of blood components to the twenty-five hospitals in its fifteen county service area. Community Tissue Services serves the public through recovery, processing and distribution of human tissue donations used for transplantation.
