Robert A. Hinely Named Director of Special Projects at Community Tissue Services

Portland, OR — (June 22, 2007) Community Tissue Services (CTS) is pleased to announce Robert A. Hinely, as Director of Special Projects.  Hinely will coordinate and lead two innovative tissue programs at CTS and support all branch locations in increasing donors.

Hinely has over eleven years experience in the industry.  In 1996, Hinely began his career at CTS as a procurement coordinator, and he was promoted to branch manager two years later.  Since 2001, Hinely has been serving as a Branch Director, most recently in Portland, where he was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing activities for all employees of the tissue branch and satellite locations in Boise, Idaho and Medford, Oregon.

Hinely earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Illinois. He is a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist from the American Association of Tissue Banks.  In 2006, Hinely completed a Project Management Certification Program from Xavier University Consulting Group.  Hinely is also a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks and on the Board of Directors of Donate Life Northwest, a public education program.

According to Judith E. Woll, M.D., CEO of CTS, “CTS recently expanded its relationship with Osteotech, Inc. to supply cortical bone and whole tissue donors for the production of specialized grafts. Our relationship with Osteotech provides us an opportunity to increase the variety of tissue back to the local hospitals.  In addition CTS recently formed a partnership with Allosource to create Joint Restoration Foundation to provide fresh grafts to surgeons.  The position was created to coordinate the two new programs within our national organization,”  Dr. Woll added. The programs will allow CTS to have an increased supply of specialized tissue and fresh grafts available to local hospitals and surgeons.
