Eva Sombathy Named Director of Mid-South Tissue Bank

MEMPHIS, Tn – Mid-South Tissue Bank announces the appointment of Eva Sombathy as Director.  Mid-South Tissue Bank is an affiliate of Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS) headquartered in Dayton, Ohio.  

In her new position, Sombathy will oversee all daily operations for Mid-South Tissue Bank.  In addition, her responsibilities include personnel decisions, audits, and inspections.  Sombathy will be responsible for educating professionals and the public on all facets of tissue donation.

Woll, MD, CEO of Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services.

Sombathy has over five years experience in the tissue bank industry.  Her career in tissue banking began at Community Tissue Services, where she served as a Customer Service Representative, Per-diem Technician and Recovery Coordinator.  Sombathy worked at the Texas and Dayton branches.  Before joining CTS, she worked at Denton Community Hospital in Texas as a Pharmacy Technician.
           
Sombathy earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of North Texas.  She received her certification as a tissue bank specialist in 2004 from the American Association of Tissue Banks.
